The crew is waiting for mysterious business contacts on Geonosis, whom Jaxson Slade has claimed would be the source of an “easy payday.” As the ships touched down at the end of last episode, tensions were high as Jaxson stalked out into the wreckage of the old battlefield, to parlay with the new arrivals alone.

Biography:

Until recently, the Washyntyn family had a reputation of scholarly greatness in the field of lore related to the Jedi Order, and the secrets of The Force. Benn’s father sullied this reputation, unfortunately, by making frequent wild-eyed claims of massive treasures and powerful artifacts that’d been hidden away by the ancient jedi – treasures that he believed he was on the path to discovering. These fantastic claims were never backed up by any solid evidence, and the resultant shunning and ridicule from the rest of the scholarly community led Benn’s father into a sort of madness. He disappeared several years ago claiming he’d “show them all!”

Benn was a young adult at this time, and remained behind, studying at Coronet University. Despite having been years since his father’s crazed departure, Benn still suffered the constant ridicule that was now attached to the Washyntyn name.

Recently, Benn received a package from his estranged father – a datapad containing an encoded journal. And a note: “Meet me on Tatooine, and I’ll show you I was right all along!” Unfortunately, Benn arrived on Tatooine to find that his father had lured Benn into a trap, endenturing Benn into the service of a small-time Hutt Lord named Teemo, in return for allowing his father to leave the planet.

Our story began with Benn joining up with a team that was breaking free of Teemo’s grasp, hoping he might be able to entice these adventurers into helping him follow the path of his father’s treasure hunt, and decode his journal of secrets.

Biography:

Rizzor was a bombardier commander during the Clone Wars, on the side of the Separatist Army. At the time, he did his diligence as a soldier during war, following the orders of his superiors without question whenever possible.

After the war ended, Rizz refused to bow down to the Empire. Instead, he absconded with his command ship, and a small crew of trusted separatist soldiers from his squadron, and went into private business as a privateer.

This worked out for many years, until the crew was contracted to procure an ancient relic, recovered from an archaeological dig site. The rumors were that the object was cursed. When their ship’s hyperdrive died in deep space while transporting the cargo, a few members of the squad became convinced that the rumors were true. A mutiny occurred, and half of the crew were killed in the fire fight. In the end, the only one loyal to Rizz, was himself. His mutinous crew abandoned him on a barely-habitable frontier world, took his ship and was never heard from again.

Rizz managed to get off the planet somehow, and has been on the lookout for his betrayers ever since. He has gone back to his privateer ways, but without a crew to command, he’s been feeling a bit … lost.

Biography:

Erik Jace is a member of the well-known Jace Family – the controlling party behind the hugely successful bacta mogul corporation, Zaltin Corporation. As one half of the Thyferran Bacta Cartel, Zaltin helps control the flow and supply of more than 99% of the bacta industry across the entire galaxy. And since this economic power is what keeps the planet Thyferra alive, this has given the Jace family tremendous political influence both on their homeworld, and in the larger governing bodies of the galaxy.

Erik chose to go into politics at a young age, and used his family’s influence to land him employment as part of the Thyferran representatives to the Galactic Senate. It did not take many years before Erik had distinguished himself in this capacity, eventually rising to hold an actual seat in the Galactic Senate, as one of only 4 representatives to Thyferra.

Although Erik had no direct dealings in the matter, he was aware that certain parties within Zaltin Corp had been offering aid to the growing Rebellion in recent years. When Emperor Palpatine disbanded the Senate, claiming that it had been infiltrated by rebels, Erik felt his connection to Zaltin put his life in danger, and fled. During his attempted escape, he was confronted by Stormtroopers that attempted to detain him, claiming that his flight was evidence of his guilt.

In that moment, a power rose up within Erik that he’d been previously unaware of. The Stormtrooper squad were struck dead by an explosion of lighting-like power emanating from Erik’s body, as he simultaneously found himself becoming aware of the world around him in an entirely new way. His newfound ability to Sense enemies allowed him to easily complete his escape, and flee from Coruscant.

Erik realized that as a fugitive he would be hopelessly outmaneuvered if he continued to work alone, and so decided to contact the Rebellion and offer his services. After all, he was already a suspected traitor… he may as well live up to the stories people were telling about him.

Biography:

Iluna is just a bartender. Of course, it only takes a brief conversation, and a certain level of suspicion, to see that there’s far more to her than that. Though nobody really knows precisely what that extra something is.

The truth is that she is an experiment – the results of invasive mental and physical condition, augmented by cybernetics, at the hands of a ruthless Imperial research project that was pursuing the creation of “The Perfect Spy.”

Born and raised in the nicer part of the slums of Coruscant’s Undercity, Iluna (or whatever her birth name was – even she has a hard time remember it, occasionally) was one of three children that became orphaned at a young age as a result of their parents’ shady ways of life. The Empire took her and her two siblings in, and immediately subjected them to the tortures of their experiments. Being non-human meant they were rarely treated with any level of respect or decency. And although Iluna cannot recall just about anything from those terrible times, negative sentiments towards the Empire have been scarred into her psyche.

The experiments were a limited success – for a time, Iluna worked as a spy, assassin, infiltrator, and more for the Empire. It wasn’t until hearing of the sudden death of her brother, that she was finally able to snap the mental control, and begin planning for her escape. In order to make a clean getaway, she had her brain implants purposefully sabotaged, and faked her death, hoping that the Empire wouldn’t and couldn’t come after her.

She finds herself on Tatooine, wrapping up one of the last favors she owned to one of the parties that had helped her in securing her freedom. She has just learned that this contact had been killed, and her obligation therefore null. However, it may have meant she’d been burned… she had to escape, and find out more details later. Staying in one place too long may mean death. Or worse.

After several years of building a reputation for himself as a reliable and talented lawman, Jaxson was finally invited to join an elite team that offered to train him as an SEO for the Sector Rangers – one of their most elite ranks. On one of the first assignments with his new team, Jaxson witnessed as his team fell to corruption at the hands of a wealthy and well-connected spice smuggler. Refusing to betray his oath as a Sector Ranger, Jaxson was quickly subdued by the rest of Bravo Team. When he came-to some time later, he found that he had been framed for their murder of the rest of the team, as well as various other charges ranging from spice smuggling to kidnapping.

He was jailed for what was supposed to be a life sentence. However, a fortuitous clerical error landed him a free man just a few years later. He spent some time in the bottom of a bottle, until the day he got lucky enough to run across one of the men he was convicted of killing – his former squadmate, Tars. After some aggressive questioning of the former colleague, Jaxson learned that the rest of Bravo Team was still at-large, and planning a meet-up in the near future on the planet of Geonosis.

Jaxson booked passage on a ship bound for the Arkanis Sector, piloted by a kel-dor named Rizzor. Unfortunately, hings didn’t go exactly as planned after that.

Episode 2 — Flight from Tatooine

NOTE: Episode 1 was never recorded, and so will not appear on this site. It consisted of this same group of custom characters playing through a customized version of the “Escape from Mos Shuuta” Starter Adventure. Episode 2 picks up right at the tail end of that module.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-

After successfully evading a small squadron of TIE Fighters above the surface of Tatooine, the crew takes their newly-stolen YT-1300 to Ryloth for refueling, and some light treasure hunting. The crash that Bolas caused a week earlier appears to have not yet been reported, leaving whatever valuables it contained apparently intact. What will they find when they go to investigate it?

While en route, the Crew gets to know one another a little better, sharing the tales of how they come to be in Mos Shuuta, and how they may be able to help one another out of the unfavorable circumstances they all find themselves in.
